Okay, the new look is sort of 50s - but I'm in an 80s state of mind. At some point, does everyone become nostalgic? It seems like it has happened to every generation previously so I suppose mine is doomed to the same fate. It seems weird that for the last few days I have been thinking about 80's songs. Even more so in that I don't even remember listening to them at the time. I was the long-haired shirtless dude playing hacky-sack with the jean cut-offs, black trucker hat WAY before they were in style, sandals and my Led Zep tie-dye shirt keeping guard over my smokes. I think the 80's are about to come back again. Well, wait. Let me rethink that. I actually think they have been cool (in a hip to be square kind of way) for a while now. In fact, and in fairness, it is more likely the 90s turn - but after a summary look I suspect that people will go back to the 80s as 'close enough.' Anyway, while I still listen more to stuff from different genres, I'm actually thinking of working a bit more of the 80's into the ol' iPod. (I am fully aware that it is the beer talking - humour me). Anyway, much against my better judgement , I have even decided in this moment of weakness to even let a little pollute my beloved LISTEN collection. I present, for you enjoyment:
the FIXX: "One Thing Leads to Another" - Reach the Beach
In short, it's official -- the 80s are once again cool. I have dubbed it so. I know the Helsinki club kids will be raving tonight when they realize they are 5 years ahead of us. (Or is it 10 years behind?) Anyway, this is what happens when you start blogging without a subject in mind. Plan ahead people. In closing, I cannot help but notice that I'm enjoying a bit of a surge in traffic right now - in spite of the fact I'm posting less regularly. Or is it in spite of? Could it be that people are coming now to see less of me? I believe a country & western song called, "If Your Phone is not Ringing, It's Me." That is what I'm starting to think. Anyways, sorry about the post and FIXX and stuff but thanks for stopping by. I'm outtie.
