... except from a vending machine. ~Robert C. Gallagher
It took only a few minutes yet it changed everything about this site. In short, I switched to Disqus for my comments. Doesn't seem like much - does it? I mean, its not like I ever really get any comments anyway (*hint, hint*). However, while the site may look 99% the same what has changed is my mindset. I mean, for starters I've lost every comment that was left on this site during its oh - about 2 1/2 years of existence. I mean, I guess I could probably find them somewhere and read them if I REALLY wanted to - but I don't - so they are gone. Anyways, that is so besides the point.

What changed was my mindset. As much as I've already started the work associated with taking on a second website, it was fun and exciting to do things the way I want to now that I have a slightly better idea about what the hell I'm doing. So all the comments are gone? I like this system better - its my website right? I don't have to explain it to anyone. I'm not really telling jokes anymore - guess what LAUGH section - you're on notice. I'm not going to delete you tonight because I've had about 10 beers and I'm still not 100% sure what I'm gonna think when I wake up in the morning and realize all my comments are gone. But soon my friend -- really soon.
Things have been going very well with this site for the last while -- really well. As a result I've grown a little complacent and not made any changes. But that is exactly what is about to change. I'm gonna rip the site of mine a new asshole - why not? Hell, if I thought it would be worth my while I'd sell the whole shebang and start again - just to see if I could do it. Actually, that really is the only reason I started my damn contest site, but that's a whole different thing.
Anyway, as unapologetic as I seem - I do want to offer some condolences and gratitude to all of those who did leave comments - I truly do appreciate it. It's like nourishment to people who run websites - seeing as we get precious real nourishment that is. I think the new Disqus system is just the cat's meow and I hope you will all learn to agree. The price was right (it's free) and while this is not a paid plug - what I see so far I REALLY like! So for now, only the comments have changed - repeat: ONLY THE COMMENTS.
In closing, I just finished watching my Leafs get beat (again!) and need to rest up so I have the energy to watch my beloved Bills get crushed tomorrow - isn't autumn awesome? I'm out for now - one last quote before I go:
Things alter for the worse spontaneously, if they be not altered for the better designedly. ~Francis Bacon
