Well, the lazy, dog days of summer end as the Canucklehead family heads back to school. This weekend was of course a long weekend here, as I suspect it was for most of you and it is always a busy one as families struggle to fit a whole summer full of fun into one last mad weekend dash of adventure. We had a pretty memorable summer so luckily the pressure was off. Still, it was a mad dash for most of the weekend. However, I actually spent the Labour Day holiday on a golf course – my first (and likely last) round of the season. It was a great day weather wise but my ‘mad skills’ appear to have suffered from too long an absence – with me shooting a 106. For those non-golfers, this means REALLY bad. Still – it was fun to get and no complaints here – there’s always next year!
The only one who really had their first day of school today was Mrs. C – seeing as she is a kindergarten teacher. Still, I start night school tomorrow and Canucklehead Jr. will be back on Friday. And so it begins – things are more than a little crazy around ‘Chez Canucklehead’ right now but I’m sure things will get back to (relatively) normal once we get used to the new schedule. The only one immune to the school thing right now is the ‘Lil’ Big Man’ – but he still has to suffer through the rest of our schedules – being juggled around as required. It’s all good! We will not endure – we shall prevail.
The lack of activity around here has not been as directly related to me being busy as one might suspect – but actually the computer being busy. Mrs. C is working hard to ensure she has the best educated kindergartners on the planet – I’m hoping things will get moderately better in the foreseeable future. In the interim, have a look around some of the other sections on the site – or maybe even some of the wonderful sites on the “Canucklehead 'Eh' List.’
It was a fun and exhausting weekend so I’m off again – time to curl up on the couch with the boys for a little R&R. (In this case rest & relaxation – not Rock n’ Roll.) Not to worry – I’ll back shortly. I promise. Hope you all had a great summer and here is hoping you have a wonderful fall.
CHEERS!
